AGE 17 - A1 License

At 17 you can complete your A1 training and tests. Once you pass the practical tests at the end of your course you will be able to ride a 125cc bike without L Plates and ride on motorways, you will also be allowed to take a pillion on the back.

Course Information

AGE 19 - A2 License

At 19 You can do the A2 training & tests. Once you pass the practical tests at the end of your course you will be able to ride any bike up to 46.6 BHP, there's no upper engine size, so you will be doing your training on one of our restricted Yamaha MT-07s.

AGE 24 and over - DAS

Over 24 - well it's 'full fat for you!' You can complete the Category A training - historically known as DAS. When you pass the tests on the final day, you'll be allowed to ride any size bike you like with no restrictions!

LICENCE UPGRADE

Licence Upgrade - so you've had your A2 licence for 2 years or you've turned 24 since passing A2 and want to upgrade to an unrestricted licence. Maybe you've had your A1 licence for 2 years or have turned 19 since passing the A1 and want to upgrade to A2 - well the good news is you're in the right place!

We can take you through your upgrade and tests with our accelerated access course. To upgrade to the next category you do not need a CBT, and if you've held your current licence for 2 years you don't need a theory either.

If you're upgrading because you're now old enough for the next category but have held your current licence for less than 2 years you do need a valid theory.

Fabien of Dorking started training with MTS in February, as he’d never ridden before he booked a Taster session to get the hang of things before completing a CBT with us. After that, he decided riding an auto was not what he wanted so returned for a conversion to a geared bike. And, within the month he did his theory and booked his four day A2 course with us, and what an amazing result today when he passed first time round! So, from zero to hero, and hopefully back in a couple of years to upgrade to the DAS. Well done Fab, you worked hard and got the result you deserve!
